KARACHI, Feb 3: Two container ships were berthed at QICT during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Friday. Meanwhile, four more ships with containers, wheat and iron ore also got anchored at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy stood at 67 per cent as seven ships, Al-Manakh, Amirica, Contship Indigo, Chemroad Rose, Amalia Del Bene, May Oldendorff and Alpha Flame, were busy in loading and unloading containers, edible oil, iron ore and wheat.

Cargo handling was brisk at the wharves where a total tonnage of 79,613 tons comprising 57,530 tons of import and 22,083 tons of export cargo was handled.

Sailing was active as Contship Indigo and America left the port while Chemroad Rose and Al-Manakh were due to leave.

Seven ships, Armonikos, Sea Synergy, Saudi Hofuf, Carmen, Tain Bae Feng, New Legend Star and Katharina, were awaiting their berthing turn at the outer anchorage.
