MUZAFFARGARH: A 70-year-old woman was tortured and later thrown out of her house by her son in the Bet Mir Hazar area, some 70km from the city, on Wednesday.

The police registered a case against the suspect and arrested him on the orders of DPO Syed Hasnain Haider.

Shammo Mai, a widow, who supports herself, said her son Ayaz asked her to leave the house. She said the house was her property as a result Ayaz allegedly tortured her and threw her out of the house. Locals came there and rescued her.

The woman contacted the Bet Mir Hazar police and a team brought her back to her house.

Police registered a case against Ayaz under section 3 of the Protection of Parents Ordinance 2021 and arrested him.
