LAHORE: Indian Punjabi movie Kali Jotta featuring famous actors Satinder Sartaaj, Neeru Bajwa and Wamiqa Gabbi will hit cinemas across the country on Aug 18.

The film is currently in the process of censor. The Distribution Club has got the rights of the movie.

Distribution Club Executive Director Sheikh Abid Rasheed told Dawn that Kali Jotta in India has done business of Rs400m and hopefully it would also do a huge business at the box office in Pakistan. The film is being released all over Pakistan on Aug 18 after getting censored, he said.

The club has also recently released another Indian Punjabi movie Munda Southall Da in Pakistan on Aug 4 which is doing well at the box office. Pakistani artiste and comedian Iftikhar Thakur has also performed in Munda Southall Da, which is a Romantic comedy movie.

He said the film had in its cast Punjabi singer Armaan Bedil as an actor who shared the space with actress Tanu Grewal, Iftikhar Thakur whose excellent acting was the highlight of the film. The film is shot across the UK.

Music Show: The Lahore Arts Council held the Azadi Music Show on Friday at Alhamra Centre, The Mall.

Film director Syed Noor graced the occasion as the chief guest. Amidst the melodies of the Azadi Music Show, participants revisited the journey to Pakistan’s independence.

Syed Noor congratulated the LAC for holding the programme. He underscored how the singers had artistically voiced the aspirations and passions of the nation.

Artistes, including Malkoo, Aman Ali, Saira Tahir and Hasan Ali, delivered enchanting performances that got a standing ovation from audience.
