TOBA TEK SINGH: The son of former PTI MPA from Kassowal, Sahiwal, retired Maj Ghulam Sarwar died in a suspicious blast probably in his medicine distribution office on Toba Tek Singh Road in Civil Lines area of Jhang.
According to Rescue 1122, retired Maj Adnan Sarwar, the owner of a chain of medicine distribution stores, was present in his office when the explosion took place. As a result, his room caught fire. He was severely burnt and died instantly. Firefighters extinguished the fire.
A family source said the blast might have occurred due to gas leakage.
Jhang District Police Officer Malik Tariq Mahboob visited the office of the deceased and inspected the site.
He told the media that the cause of the blast was not known and police experts were probing into the incident.
Meanwhile, a woman who had received serious burns after explosion of a cylinder of a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) at her house in Chak 426-JB, Gojra, some days back, succumbed to her burns at the Allied Hospital, Faisalabad.
The deceased, Sadia Bibi, and her husband Ali Raza were present in the kitchen of their house when the cylinder blasted. As a result, both of them were burnt.
Ali Raza died in the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Gojra, while Sadia was referred to the Allied Hospital.
