SUKKUR: An assistant sub-inspector was on Sunday sacked for facilitating an attempted kidnap of a man in a locality near the riverine area of Kandhkot-Kashmore.

He was caught red-handed by police and residents of the locality.

According to officials at the Gablo police station, a gang of dacoits had captured Munir Golo but a large number of people present nearby rushed to his rescue. The area police rushed to the spot and forced the gangsters to flee. The gang let off the victim and also left behind their associate, who was caught by the people and handed over to the police team. The held associate later turned out to be an ASI. Taking notice of his involvement in the incident, Kashmore

SSP ordered dismissal of the ASI and asked the Gablo SHO to register an FIR against him for facilitating the kidnap attempt.
