RAWALPINDI: The Indian and Pakistani delegations, which concluded their current round of talks this morning [July 31], would resume their discussion in New Delhi on Aug 18. A joint statement, issued at the conclusion of the eight-day parleys, said that in the course of the talks certain issues arose which required further consideration by both sides. …

Talking to Pakistani newsmen the leader of the Indian delegation, Mr. P.N. Haksar, said the issues had not been frozen. The factual position, according to him, was that the parleys had only been adjourned for a brief period and the two sides would resume their discussion... . “We are sorting out the issues and are trying to narrow down differences,” he added. — Correspondent

The projects … related to the installation of additional power generators for Mangla Dam, expansion of the Multan Fertilizer Factory, and laying of additional pipeline from Sui to Karachi.
