Meanwhile, a 60-year-old man, Khaista Rehman, a resident of Matako area, was injured when his car plunged into a ravine in Tarai area. A Rescue 1122 team shifted the injured to hospital.

FUNDS SOUGHT: The local journalists have demanded of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Ghulam Ali to order release of Rs500,000 he had announced for the Timergara Press Club.

The demand was made during a general body meeting of the press club held on Friday with its president Ismail Anjum in the chair.

On the occasion, Mr Anjum said the governor had announced the amount during the oath-taking ceremony of the press club’s office-bearers six months ago.

He said the governor’s office was contacted time and again, but to no avail. He said the press club had been facing financial problems due to lack of funds.

Mr Anjum said the press club had not been provided with funds during the last three years. He claimed some JUI-F local activists were creating hurdles in release of funds for the press club.
