15 vehicles looted by robbers

GUJRANWALA, Jan 30: Passengers of some 15 vehicles, including nine cars, were deprived of cash, jewellery and other valuables by half a dozen robbers on Gonalanwala Road on Monday.

Reports reaching here said that armed highwaymen set up a picket and started looting passengers of vehicles. The bandits also beat some passengers and threw them in nearby fields after tying them with ropes for offering resistance.

It was learnt that most of the vehicles looted by bandits were carrying members of marriage parties. They relieved women of jewellery and men of cash and valuables. They escaped from scene when a police party came there.

Police have registered a case against the accused and are investigating.
