HYDERABAD, Jan 30: The Tando Mohammad Khan district nazim, Mir Inayat Ali Talpur, has directed the district police to make foolproof security arrangements in the three talukas of the district during the month of Muharram.

He was presiding over a meeting of senior police officers and SHOs of various police stations on Sunday.

DPO Haji Mohammad Sadiq and DCO Amir Ali Behan were also present on the occasion.

It was decided in the meeting to set up 17 police checkpoints and emergency centres in the three talukas.

It was also decided that total ban would be imposed on display of fire arms.

DCO: Hyderabad DPO Ali Ahmed Junejo has said the district police would ensure maintenance of law and order during the sacred month of Muharram.

He was presiding over a meeting of representatives of various organizations, district peace committee and senior police officers at the police headquarters here on Sunday evening.

The participants of the meeting stressed the need for installation of street lights and supply of uninterrupted water and power during the month.

The DPO said the district police would coordinate with peace committees and other organizations to maintain peace.

He said strict security measures were taken at mosques, Imam Bargahs and on mourning procession routes.

He said clandestine cameras were installed at sensitive places, patrolling of police was increased and checkpoints were set up at the borders of the district.
