SHANGLA: Two people, including a schoolteacher, were killed while another was injured in separate road accidents in tehsil Chakesar and tehsil Puran here on Saturday.

The Shangla police spokesperson, Umar Rehman, told Dawn that a motorcar carrying four passengers was going towards Karora from Chakesar tehsil when a big boulder rolled down from the mountains and hit the vehicle. A man was killed and three other remained unhurt in the incident.

He said the deceased was identified as Rehmatullah, a senior schoolteacher at government high school Opal.

Shangla Teachers Association offered condolence on the death of their colleague and showed sympathy with the bereaved family. In another incident, a seven-year-old boy was killed and his father was injured when a motorcycle collided with a truck in Kolalai area of Aloch in Puran tehsil on Saturday evening.

Police said that a heavy truck hit the motorcycle. They said that seven-year-old Mohammad Ayan was killed and his father Gul Bahadar, resident of Chawga, was injured in the accident.

They said the body and injured were shifted to the Pir Mohammad Khan Shaheed Hospital. Police seized the truck and arrested its driver identified as Mohammad Alam, a resident of Bahrain in Swat.
