QUETTA: Security personnel continued a search operation on the second consecutive day on Friday in Zhob and Sherani districts along the Pak-Afghan border to arrest militants involved in attacks on Zhob garrison and Sui areas in which 12 army soldiers embraced martyrdom.

Officials said all government and private schools, colleges and other institutions in Zhob have been closed for three days in the wake of the ongoing search operation to arrest the militants.

Zhob Deputy Commissioner Azimullah Kakar said all educational institutions in the area had been closed and they would be opened on Monday after reviewing the situation.

Meanwhile, security personnel claimed to have neutralised some terrorists during the ongoing operation who were involved in attack on the Zhob garrison.

Officials said that security forces had completed the search operation in Zhob town, but the operation was continuing in areas close to the Pak-Afghan border in Zhob and Sherani districts.
