YOUTH IN TROUBLE

YOUTH IN TROUBLE: In December 2020, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Service Commission (KPPSC) had announced some Provincial Management Services (PMS) posts. The exams were held in October 2022, and the result has not been announced to date. It is only natural that the candidates are waiting for the results and most of them are unable to plan their careers. Those running the affairs of the KPPSC should expedite the process and finalise the lists as soon as possible, keeping in mind the best interests of the province and the candidates.

GAS SUPPLY: There has been no gas supply to my area in Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Phase V since December 2022. After a number of complaints on helpline 1199, my complaint was forwarded to the zonal office in Clifton Block 9 (DSA RA#9972228089 on March 23). I have visited the said office several times over the last few months and have personally apprised the officials there about the problem, but all this has come to nothing. Sending emails to the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) head office is as futile an exercise as one can imagine; even worse. I wonder who should be contacted to have this problem resolved.

TEACHING LICENCE POLICY: This is with refers to the article ‘Teaching licences’ (June 10) which explained almost every element of the said policy in Sindh. However, we should also keep in mind the provincial government’s lack of capacity to ensure transparency in this whole process. Introducing any new policy without fixing the structural hitches is futile. The government needs to facilitate the teachers so that they may focus their energies on imparting education. In Punjab, the relevant authorities have digitised the whole structure and have created a separate database for each teacher. From transfer/posting to reward and punishment, everything is on the fingertips. In Sindh, there is not even a proper service structure for the teachers.
