ISLAMABAD: A man was murdered and three others, including a woman, were injured in separate robberies in the capital, police said on Thursday.

In the first incident, a man was murdered and his daughter was injured during a robbery in the area of Shams Colony.

The deceased has been identified as Raja Khalid Javaid, who had come to Islamabad with his family from Chakwal on July 11.

Khalid was standing with his daughter Rafia outside Saeen Mirchon Shrine when two riders on a motorcycle approached them and snatched valuables and cash on gunpoint. According to the police, the armed men started firing when Khalid offered some resistance, injuring both of them.

The injured were shifted to a hospital where Khalid was pronounced dead, they said, adding that Rafia had been admitted to the hospital for further treatment.

In another incident, armed men beat and injured a man and his son during a robbery at Satra Meel.

According to the police, four persons who were riding on a motorcycle and a car intercepted Talha Ijaz and his father Mohammad Ijaz when they were going home from Barakahu Chowk on a motorcycle. The robbers held them on gunpoint and looted Rs200,000 cash from them. While committing the crime, the robbers also beat the victims, causing a fracture in the leg of Mohammad Ijaz.
