GUJRAT: An 18-year-old deaf mute housemaid was raped after being taken to another location from the house where she worked in Chohdowal village, under the jurisdiction of Daulat Nagar police.

The police have arrested the suspect involved in the assault. The complainant, a woman from Sahiwal, reported to the police that she and her deaf mute daughter worked as domestic help in different houses in Chohdowal village. On July 10, when her daughter did not return home at night, she initiated a search.

During her search, she witnessed her daughter, accompanied by a man heading towards the village. Shockingly, two suspects threw her daughter off the motorbike. Upon the mother’s report, the police have registered a case against both suspects under section 376 of the Pakistan Penal Code .

ROBBERIES: Four gunmen targeted a mobile phone accessories shops in the Iqbal Town area of Shaheen Chowk. The robbers entered the shop owned by Sadam Akram, a resident of Ameenabad, and looted Rs1.1 million, along with mobile phones belonging to the shop and customers, valued at around Rs254,000. They also stole other valuables from the store and fled.

The crime scene unit collected forensic evidence for investigation purposes.

A case has been registered against the unidentified robbers under section 392 of the Pakistan Penal Code, and the police have commenced their investigation.

In another robbery incident on the busy Railway Road area of the city, two robbers snatched Rs70,000 and a phone worth Rs 25,000 from Usman Ilyas.

The police registered a case against the unidentified suspects and initiated an investigation.
