ISLAMABAD : A curator at the Pakistan Museum of Natural History (PMNH) was honored with the prestigious Everest Climate Action Award 2023 during the South Asian Climate Action Conference in Kathmandu, Nepal.

According to a press release, the award was presented by Vice President Ram Sarah Prasad Yadav to Shehnaz Zakia for her contributions for raising awareness among local communities and students in Pakistan about climate change and supporting efforts to mitigate its impact.

The event, co-organized by the National Youth Council, Ministry of Youth and Sports, and Youth Development Center Nepal, aimed to acknowledge the vital work carried out by individuals actively addressing climate change in the region.

The Everest Climate Action Award, celebrated the outstanding achievements of climate activists, advocates, experts, and influencers from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Nepal.
