Sports Medicine Centre

Published January 28, 2006

ISLAMABAD, Jan 27: A Sports Medicine Centre is being established at the Pakistan Sports Complex. The aim of the project will be to screen athletes for diseases, promotion of health through fitness and enhancement of players’ performance through scientific research and prevention and management of injuries.

A medical support system is an integral part of any sporting organisation with even countries like India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh having developed elaborate set-ups.

Currently a basic treatment and rehabilitation centre is in operation at the sports complex but the available physiotherapy equipment and manpower is not enough to look after injured players and athletes.
