SUKKUR: Sardar Mir Manzoor Ali Khan Panhwar, a PPP leader and former minister who died of a heart attack on Sunday night in Karachi, was laid to rest in his ancestral graveyard in Sardar Adam Khan Panhwar village of Jacobabad district on Tuesday.

The ambulance that transported the body was escorted by a convoy of several hundred vehicles carrying mourners, right from Karachi to his residence in Jacobabad.

Grieved people showered rose petals on the ambulance all along its route as it passed through Sehwan, Bhan Syedabad, Dadu, Mehar, Larkana, Dhamrah, Garhi Yasin and other towns.

Several thousand mourners, besides political figures and elite of various tribes and clans, attended the funeral and burial of Sardar Panhwar.

Prominent among them were Mir Aijaz Hussain Jakarani, Sardar Mohammad Bakhsh Mahar, Sardar Ali Gohar Khan Mahar, Dr Mohammad Ibrahim Jatoi, Ghulam Qadir Chandio, Burhan Khan Chandio, Sardar Shehryar Shar, Moazzam Abbasi, Mir Mumtaz Jakrani, Haji Sher Mohammad Mugheri, Arbab Lutfullah, Mohammad Aslam Abro, Mir Faiq Jamali, Mir Babul Khan Bhayo, Pir Abdul Khaliq Bharchundi, Syed Zulfikar Ali Shah, Saleem Khoso, Ghous Bakhsh Khan Mahar and Mir Changez Khan Jamali.
