KARACHI: The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) on Saturday donated 10 point buses to the University of Karachi for its students.

Karachi Administrator Dr Syed Saif-ur-Rehman visited the campus, met KU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood Iraqi and handed over the refurbished buses to the varsity’s transport department.

The VC and the administrator also signed a memorandum of understanding.

Speaking on the occasion, the administrator said that the KMC had a few weeks ago started the process to provide buses to the KU.

He said that the KMC would also carpet road, plant saplings and help the KU in maintenance of its civic infrastructure.

The VC thanked the administrator and informed the audience that he had also promised to provide an ambulance and a fire engine.

He said with the help of public and private sectors the KU would be able to provide comfort to its thousands of students.
