A petition has been filed with the Lahore High Court (LHC) seeking to bar the arrest of senior PTI leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi in any case filed after May 9.

The petitioner, who happens to be Qureshi’s daughter, has named the Punjab chief secretary and provincial police chief as respondents in the plea.

The petition highlights the concern that Qureshi currently in jail, could be apprehended again in cases related to May 9, and thus requests the court to issue directives prohibiting such arrests.

The hearing for the plea has not yet been scheduled.
