ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah on Wednesday said that PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif will soon return to the country.

In an interview with a private TV channel, he said Mr Sharif had the right to get relief from the fabricated cases that had been filed against him.

Mr Sanaullah said that Mr Sharif would soon return home to lead the party for the general election 2023 campaign.

“Innocent Nawaz Sharif should be granted the opportunity to plead his case before a court,” the interior minister said.

He said the PML-N would move the court to review Mr Sharif’s disqualification as the party chief.

In reply to a question, Mr Sanaullah said that the PML-N leader was not like PTI chief Imran Khan who was hiding himself behind bails.

“We never took bails in our cases because fake cases were registered against us,” the interior minister claimed.

In reply to a question about the possibility of the formation of a new political party in the country, Mr Sanaullah said the PML-N was not afraid of any new political party or group’s formation, saying if there would be a new party, it would not be a big challenge for the PML-N.
