PESHAWAR: Mid-Career Management Course (MCMC) is a crucial training programme for public servants, preparing them to perform higher responsibilities and meet emerging development challenges.
These views were expressed by director general National Institute of Management (NIM), Peshawar, Captain retired Usman Gul while addressing trainee officers at the inaugural session of the 37th MCMC on Monday.
He said by focusing on academic activities with a positive attitude towards learning and self-improvement, the trainee officers would emerge from this training as highly improved civil servants, poised to contribute to the betterment of the public and national development.
He urged them to wholeheartedly engage in the training process to maximise the benefits. He also urged the officers to follow austerity measures as the country was facing financial difficulties.
Mr Gul also highlighted the significance of information technology, which had not
only facilitated the public service delivery but also given birth to new challenges, “Therefore, it is incumbent upon the public servants to learn new IT skills so as to ensure effective and efficient public service delivery.”
He said training was designed in such a way to impart the requisite IT, leadership and management skills to the participants to enhance their competencies and make them better public servants. He also praised the crucial role being played by the civil servants in national harmony and economic prosperity.
On this occasion, chief instructor MCMC Mohammad Tayyab briefed the participants about the objectives and dynamics of the course.
