TAXILA: A 25-year-old woman was allegedly tortured to death by her in-laws in Toheedabad area in the jurisdiction of Taxila police station on Wednesday.

Mutabar Khan told police that his niece Nabeela Bibi got married four years ago and did not have a child. He alleged that her in-laws would torture her due to infertility and on Wednesday, they once again beat her to death. Later, her body was shifted to Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) hospital.

Meanwhile, Wah Saddar police busted eight drug dens and recovered over 15 kilogrammes of contraband.

According to a police spokesman, a team of Wah Saddar police led by Station House Officer Inspector Rana Kashif, during a crackdown, launched an operation against the drug selling mafia in rural and urban areas of Wah and arrested eight persons working for various drug selling rackets in the area.

Briefing journalists about the operation, SHO Kashif said that the police carried out the operation in several areas including Losar Sharfoo, Mohobattabad and Asifabad where these dens were spreading drugs among students of various educational institutions of the area.

He said a woman who was arrested had a long history of selling drugs and was arrested in drug selling cases in the past.
