ISLAMABAD, Jan 23: A huge fire broke out in the building of religious affairs ministry, damaging office equipment, here on Monday, sources said.

However, the people inside the building remained unhurt.

The fire erupted in a locked conference room due to short-circuit in the false ceiling at about 1:20pm. Thick clouds of smoke could be seen from far. Fire brigade and police arrived at the scene and evacuated the building. The fire fighters broke open the doors of the conference room and extinguished the fire before it could spread to other rooms.
