Jewelry shop robbed

Three armed robbers barged into a jewelry shop, as soon as it was opened on Tuesday morning, and took away ornaments by holding its owner, Satish Kumar, at gunpoint.

The victim’s business partner Sahil Kumar told the Market police that the masked robbers swiftly overpowered Satish, cut off the CCTV camera cable and collected the gold ornaments, a mobile phone set and around Rs700,000 cash from inside the shop, situated in Resham Gali. They also snatched his wallet containing ATM cards, etc before fleeing the area, Sahil added.

SHO of the Market police station Inspector Sartaj Jagirani told the media that the shop owners were giving conflicting statements about the weight of the robbed ornaments. They claimed it to be 900 grams but it seemed to be not over 300 grams, he said citing the conflicting statements.
