KARACHI, Jan 22: The town council of Orangi Town, in its first session on Sunday, decided that it will carry out all its official correspondence in Urdu. Presided over by Naib Nazim Shahid Bashir, the session also decided to remove encroachments from amenity land.

Town Nazim Abdul Haq said the city nazim had allocated Rs50 million to each town for water and sewerage schemes, adding that a number of schemes had been approved.

He said the construction of Shahrah-i-Kazafi would soon begin while talks were on with the city government for construction of a bridge near the police station between Shahrah-i-Orangi and Banaras.—PPI
