Section 144 imposed in Lahore

The district administration of Lahore has imposed Section 144 in the city to ensure the “security of the people and installations against any potential terrorist or untoward activity”.

Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) empowers the district administration to issue orders in the public interest that may place a ban on an activity for a specific period of time.

According to a notification issued by Lahore DC Rafia Haider, a copy of which is available with Dawn.com, Section 144 will remain enforced in the city for seven days.
