Gang of kidnappers busted

SIALKOT, Jan 21: The Motra police claimed on Saturday to have smashed an inter-province gang of kidnappers and arrested its six members. Sialkot DPO Dr Tariq Khokhar told the press that the police had recovered trader Muhammad Gulzar Butt from the NWFP, who had been kidnapped for ransom by the Saddu Khan gang from Sialkot’s Doburji Malhiyaan locality on Dec 16, 2005.

Police also recovered a hijacked car and stolen valuables from the accused.

The DPO claimed that the Sialkot police had busted 10 dacoits’ gangs involved in a number of cases.

Later, Mr Khokhar distributed as many as 20 recovered motorcycles among their owners at a ceremony held at his office.

The DPO also announced cash prizes and appreciation certificates for Motra SHO Rana Zahid Husain and other members of the raiding team.
