NEW YORK Jan 19: Mukhtaran Mai arrived in New York from Paris on Wednesday on a 10-day trip to the United States where she will be feted at many events organised to honour her brave quest to seek justice for abused women in Pakistan. Mai is scheduled to attend a “gala” dinner arranged by the International Women’s Health Coalition on Thursday.

She will come to the United Nations on Friday to attend the screening of a film — The Bravest Woman on Earth — on her life and travails since her rape three years ago which sparked national and international outrage.

On January 21 she will go to Las Vegas to attend an event organised by the Asian-American Network Against Abuse of Human Rights (AANA) and then she would return to Paris.
