Aisam and Aqeel stumble in 2nd round

KARACHI, Jan 18: Tennis stars, Aqeel Khan and Aisamul Haq fell in the second round of F2 Futures tennis tournament on Wednesday at Bai Shui Dai, Jiangmen, Guangdong Province, China.

According to details made available here, Aisamul Haq was the first to get eliminated after being retired due to muscle pull at 3-6, 0-3 down to third seed Simon Stadler from Germany.

Pakistan No1 Aqeel Khan who enjoyed easy sailing in the event right from the qualifying stages was brought down to earth by seventh seed Chinese player Yu Wang who recorded a comprehensive 6-3, 6-3 victory over the Pakistani.

The top Pakistani duo took part in the event to warm up for Davis Cup tie against Chinese Taipei to be held next month.—PPI
