KARACHI: A suspected robber was shot dead in an alleged encounter with police in North Nazimabad on Sunday evening.

The Taimuria police said that the encounter took please near the Karachi Medical and Dental College in which suspect Nawab was killed.

They said that area people gathered the scene and got hold of his accomplice. They severely beat him up and the police managed to save his life.

The dead and wounded were shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, the police said, adding that two pistols, snatched mobile phones and a motorcycle were recovered from them.

Two shot over resistance

Armed robbers shot at and wounded two young men in the metropolis on Sunday, police said.

They said that 30-year-old Rehmatullah was wounded by the robbers when he put up resistance on main Rashid Minhas Road.

The Sharea Faisal police said he was taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for treatment.

In Gulbahar police limits, Muhammad Ibrar, 25, was hurt by armed bandits when he offered resistance to them near Lal Masjid in Firdous Colony. He was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for treatment.
