NAROWAL: The customs department seized gold ornaments worth Rs30 million being smuggled to Dubai from Sialkot International Airport and arrested an American citizen of Pakistani origin.

Reports said Qaiser Razak was going to Dubai from Sialkot airport. When Qaisar came to the scanning counter of airport departure lounge, Model Collectorate Sambrial Assistant Collector Habib Ahmad Bajwa searched the handbag due to his suspicious movements and recovered gold ornaments worth more than Rs30 million from the passenger’s handbag.

The customs department detained Qaiser Razaq and stopped him from going to Dubai.

According to customs officials, the value of gold is more than $100,000 in the international market.
