ISLAMABAD: Additional secretary Sohail Ali Khan will head the information ministry as the government has replaced first female secretary information Ms Shahera Shahid.

Ms Shahid has been asked to report to the Establishment Division and sources in the information ministry said that she was also taking a long leave and proceeding aboard on personal trip.

She was the second female officer of the country to become Principal Information Officer (PIO), after Ms Rizwan Khan, who was posted as PIO on April 29, 2008.

Sohail Ali Khan of PBS-21 has been made the secretary information in-charge with the authority to exercise complete powers of a federal secretary.
