HYDERABAD: Leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf, Hyderabad division chapter, have rejected results of UC-28 re-polling and demanded the election should be cancelled and held afresh.

PTI’s Khawand Bux Jahejo, Q. Mohammad Hakim and others said at a press conference at local press club on Monday a poling agent of PTI was kidnapped and tortured on the election day.

They said that Sindh police acted like PPP jiyalas on March 26 as the police provided complete protection to the ruling party’s candidates and supporters. PPP had failed to hold free and fair election, they said.

They said that re-polling was held in two UCs of city taluka. Organised rigging was committed in UC-28 on Sunday as uncountable bogus votes were cast and PPP candidate and his supporters tried to frighten away PTI contestant but the workers remained peaceful and PTI candidate managed to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat in UC-35 despite atrocities by police and PPP.

They rejected results of UC-28 and said the polls should be cancelled and fresh polling should be held. PTI’s poling agent was kidnapped and tortured, they said.

They thanked all the people who had voted for PTI candidates in re-polling on March 26 in two union committees of the city.
