THE existence of two rival organisations each claiming to be the supreme body for the control of the game in Pakistan, has caused much confusion and disgust among football players and well wishers of the game. The organisers of the Pakistan Football Federation were the first in the field and secured recognition for their organisation from the International Federation … . Then came the Pakistan Olympic Association with the object of organising different games and sports on a country-wide basis. It set up committees for centralisation of the control of various games. It met with success in every field except football. The organisers of the Football Federation have refused so far to recognise the right of the Olympic Association to control football.

In order to strengthen their hands in the fight … the organisers of the Football Federation held another “representative” meeting early this week in Karachi and “kicked out” their old president, Mr Khurshid Anwar and elected Sardar Abdur Rab Nishtar, Pakistan’s Minister of Communication, in the former’s place. — Dawn sports reporter
