KARACHI: Child dies in accident

KARACHI, Jan. 16: A child died in a road accident in Orangi Town on Monday. Police said that Farman, 2, was hit by a speeding pickup in Banaras Chowk down causing his instant death.

Tension griped the locality following the incident. However, police presence managed to avert an untoward incident.

DIES: A factory worker died after being hit by a marble piece in Mangopir area Monday.

Police said Habibur Rehman was working at a marble unit in Manghopir when a marble piece hit him in his head. He was taken to hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival, police said.
