KARACHI: Sindh High Court Chief Justice Ahmed Ali M. Shaikh has transferred 104 references filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to newly established accountability courts, as the cases had been pending trial for months due to non-appointment of judges to already existing courts in Karachi and Sukkur.

The CJ ordered transfer of 28 references from the Accountability Courts-I and III to AC-IV and AC-VII and 57 references pending before the AC-I to AC-III in Sukkur.

These include references pertaining to misuse of official authority, accumulation of assets beyond known source of income, corruption and corrupt practices.

The cases are against prominent politicians including Sindh Assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani and his family, Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan leader Mustafa Kamal and Rauf Siddiqui, PPP’s Syed Khursheed Shah, real estate tycoon Zain Malik, etc.
