RAWALPINDI: An eight-year-old boy died after falling from a multi-storey building while trying to chase a kite in Gujar Khan; however, the police claimed that the boy was playing on the rooftop of the building.
The deceased, identified as Hussain Khan, along with some children went to the fourth floor of the municipality office in Gujar Khan and fell down while reportedly trying to catch a kite. The deceased was the grandson of a local political worker.
According to local residents, the children’s unrestricted access to the rooftop of the municipal complex whether it is for kites or playing speaks volumes about the vigilance of the concerned authorities.
However, a police spokesman said while quoting the father and uncle of the deceased that he was playing when fell down, instead of kite flying.
He said police could not find any evidence of kite flying or catching it from the scene.
