KARACHI: Incumbent national champion Sultan Mohammad carved out 4-2 victory over Sri Lankan Mohomed Rikaz in the Asian Snooker Championship at Doha on Sunday.

According to results, Sultan who is making second appearance of his career in the premier regional event of the game, won the duel 50-58, 81-8, 69-17, 88-11, 16-80, 54-23.

Earlier, he opened his campaign on a winning note when he blanked Qatar’s Mohammad Al-Binali straight 107-14, 99-5, 59-31, 76-21 the other day.

Meanwhile, Shan Namat who won his group ope­ner, went down to Iran’s Siyavosh Mozayani in an agonising match 3-4.The Iranian, who is reigning Asian 6-Reds champion, struggled to post 68-57, 53-71, 53-35, 76-75, 24-77, 33-93, 57-47.
