RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) on Saturday issued notices to the owners of four marketing companies to stop advertising of illegal housing schemes.

“The advertising of illegal housing schemes which are not having any legal sanctity from RDA is illegal under 46 (1) of Punjab Development Authorities Private Housing Scheme Rules-2021 which is reproduced,” said a RDA spokesman.

He said unless a project gets NOC from the RDA it cannot be declared an approved or legal project.

But unfortunately, he said, the advertising companies’ websites were misleading general public.

“The marketing of such illegal projects gives an impression to general public that the project is already approved and legal. The advertising companies are warned that they must not be a part of this illegal activity which may deceives the general into investing in the illegal housing societies,” he said.

He said RDA Director General Saif Anwar Jappa had directed the officials to remove all the material of these illegal schemes.

He said in case of non-compliance with the Punjab Development of Cities Act 1976 and Punjab Development Authorities Private Housing Schemes Rules 2021, the RDA would initiate legal action against the advertising organisations.
