SHIKARPUR, Jan 31: The primary, middle, high schools and madaris remained closed in Shikarpur District on Thursday to protest against the killing of primary teacher, Nazeer Ahmed Buriro.

The teachers’ community announced a three-day protest to mourn the death of Mr Nazeer.

They wore black bands on their arms and hoisted black flags on the educational institutions.

Protest meetings were also held by the Mehran Teachers Association (Sindh), All Sindh Mosque School Teachers Association (Shikarpur District), and Tanzeem Asatiza (Shikarpur District) in which the teachers expressed their sorrow over the killing of Mr Nazeer and demanded arrest of his killers.
