70 Indian fans turn up on first day

LAHORE, Jan 13: Only 70 Indian cricket fans were issued tickets from the special booth to watch the first Test between Pakistan and India, which started at Qadhafi Stadium on Friday.

In all, 400 Indian spectators had booked their tickets through Internet for the first Test and remaining are likely to come and watch the remaining four day’s play.

A good number of Indian fans are expected to come and witness the One-day series.

Meanwhile, a sizable crowd turned up to watch the first day’s play despite Eid holidays. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had offered 50 per cent of the tickets free of charge to the fans.

The strict security measures, which do not allow the fans to bring with them eatables or bottles of water is one of the prime reasons forcing them to stay away from the stadium and watch the matches on TV.
