KOHAT: Two young motorcyclists were killed in an accident occurred on the Bannu Road here on Tuesday, rescue officials said.

They said Sahil Afridi died on the spot, while Sanaullah Afridi, who was seriously injured, succumbed to injuries in the District Headquarters Hospital.

Meanwhile, the police busted an inter-provincial gang of drug smugglers by arresting four of its members, including two women, during checking of vehicles at the Muslimabad checkpost on the Indus Highway on Tuesday. Hashish wrapped around their bodies was seized.

In a statement, district police officer Shezada Umer Abbas said the drugs were being smuggled to other districts of the province and Punjab in packets.

DSP Saifur Rehman and Jarma police SHO Saifullah Khan stopped a flying coach bound for southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and upon search recovered 15 kilograms of fine quality hashish from four smugglers, including two women.

The smugglers were identified as Seema Jan of Orakzai, Mina Bibi, Umer Din, and Naseem of Khyber district.

He said the smugglers had used intense scents to cover the smell of drugs.

A case was registered against them.
