KARACHI: The Sindh High Court Bar Association on Saturday expressed its reservation over constitution of a nine-member bench of the apex court by excluding the senior puisne judge, Justice Qazi Faez Isa, and Justice Sardar Tariq Masood.

In a statement, SHCBA President Mohammad Saleem Mangrio and secretary Amir Nawaz Warraich said that Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan and Justice Mazahar Ali Naqvi should voluntarily recuse themselves from the nine-member bench hearing the matter about elections schedule in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

They were of the view that power of fixing of roaster and cases should not be rested exclusively with the chief justice.

Demanding a full-court hearing of the matter in question, the SHCBA urged the chief justice of Pakistan to take appropriate steps so that ‘adverse impression’ especially in political cases may be redressed.

On Friday, the Sindh Bar Council had also issued a similar statement.
