FAISALABAD, Jan 10: City District Nazim Rana Zahid Tauseef has said the first instalment of Rs260 million out of the Rs1.6 billion had been released by the government for the Greater Faisalabad Project. Talking to newsmen here on Tuesday, he said President Gen Pervez Musharraf during his visit to Faisalabad had promised to provide a huge amount of Rs1.6 billion for the uplift and modernization of the drainage and water supply projects of the city under the Greater Faisalabad Project.

The CDG, he said, had been in touch with the federal and provincial governments for the release of this amount and now the federal government had released Rs100 million and the provincial government Rs160 million as first installment for the mega project under which pipelines would be laid in different parts of the city, besides improvement of drainage system.
