SWABI: People of Topi city and surrounding areas have demanded appointment of a lady doctor to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, and a female technician to conduct ultrasound on women.

Talking to reporters on Monday, they said that they had time and again highlighted the matter, but the officials concerned were unmoved.

Amjid Ali Khan, a resident of Topi city, said there should a female doctor to have ultrasound of women. He said it was against the culture of Pakhtuns that a male conducted the ultrasound of women.

FIR SOUGHT: Residents of Panjpir village have demanded registration of FIR against the unknown thieves, who took away 600 meters of cable from the transmission on Saturday night.

They urged Pesco Zaida subdivision officials to promptly act against the thieves.

PET SHOW: A pet show was organised at a private school on Monday to help promote students’ love for animals and create awareness about their protection, according to a press release.

‘I love my pet’ day was arranged at The City School’s Swabi campus. Students brought their pets to the school and shared information about them with their friends and teachers.

Rashida Zahir, vice-principal of the school, said pets could help humans in many ways, enriching their lives and providing them an opportunity to enjoy life.
