MIRPURKHAS, Jan 9: District Nazim Dr Kaneez Sughra Junejo on Monday visited different parts of the city to check security arrangements for Eidul Azha.

She was accompanied by Ghulam Dastagir Khan, the Taluka Nazim of Mirpurkhas, and police officers.

She went to congested bazaars and markets, including Cloth Market, Shahi and Sarafa bazaars, Khisakpura, Municipal Shopping Centre, Sir Syed Road, Pak Shopping Centre.

She directed police officers to remain in contact with masses and adopt security measures on the night of Eidul Azha.

Later, she held a meeting which reviewed law and order situation.

It was attended by the District Coordination Officer, Khursheed Naeem Malik, the District Police Officer, Abdul Hadi Bullo, and others.

Our Hyderabad correspondent adds: The district police of Hyderabad have banned setting-up of hides and skins collection camps of sacrificial animals.

Police prepared a security plan on the eve of Eidul Azha, said a press release issued by the DPO on Monday.

According to the press release, special pickets would be set up outside Imam Bargahs, Eid Gahs, mosques and other sensitive points.

Closed-circuit TV cameras would also be installed on the spots. Plain-clothed policemen would also be deployed at bus terminals by the respective police stations.

These policemen would maintain a strict vigil on people visiting bus stands and passengers of the buses and coaches would be bodily searched along with their luggage.
