MUZAFFARABAD, Jan 8: The Pakistan-Turkey Foundation will sacrifice 1,600 cows on Eidul Azha and distribute meet among earthquake survivors. Pakistan-Turkey International CAG Educational Foundation spokesperson Ramazan Erdem said: “In the Eid package some 1,600 cows will be sacrificed in different parts of the quake-hit areas and Pakistan to distribute meat among quake survivors.”

He said that other than the Eid days, meat would also be distributed over the next two months, as sacrificial meat would be kept in cold-storage facilities.

“A bag carrying 4 kg of meat a week will be provided to each family in tents to ensure that maximum number of survivors benefited.”

The spokesman said that the Pakistan army had agreed to extend help and cooperation to the foundation in distribution of meat in the far-flung and high altitude areas.

He said the foundation had also arranged visits of delegates from various countries including the USA, Turkey, Canada, UK, France, Australia, Austria, and Germany to the quake-affected areas on Eid day to express solidarity with survivors and to witness the ongoing relief activities being carried out by the foundation.—APP
