MIRPURKHAS, Jan 8: Sugarcane growers have resumed harvesting of the crop after decision of sugar mills to begin crushing in the district. The mills had suspended crushing after a decision of the Pakistan Sugar Mill Association following registration of a case against one of PSMA members in Mirpurkhas.

Crisis gripped the cane industry a few days ago when hundreds of trucks and tractor trolleys loaded with sugarcane stuck up outside gates of Al-Abbas, Mirpurkhas, Digri, and Najma Sugar mills.—BoC
