ISLAMABAD: A local holiday has been announced in Islamabad on Monday when UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan will be arriving in the capital on a brief visit.

According to a notification issued from the office of Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz Memon, it is notified that January 30 is declared as a local holiday within the revenue limits of Islamabad except the offices of essential services including MCI, CDA, ICT administration, police, Iesco, SNGPL and hospitals.

Government officials told Dawn that the UAE president was in Rahim Yar Khan on holidays from where he will fly to Islamabad escorted by four PAF fighter aircraft.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is likely to receive him at the airport. The UAE president will then move to the Prime Minister House, the officials said. Strict security measures will be put in place during the visit of the UAE president, they said.
