ISLAMABAD: Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Sajid Hussain Turi arrived in Saudi Arabia on a five-day visit, mainly to promote export of Pakistani manpower to Saudi Arabia and enhance bilateral relations.

At the airport, Deputy Minister of Saudi Arabia Dr Adnan Al Naeem welcomed the federal minister.

The purpose of the minister’s visit was to explore maximum employment opportunities for labourers and highly skilled Pakistani professionals in Saudi Arabia, a news release said.

Mr Turi thanked the Saudi deputy minister and said that Saudi Arabia was the destination of thousands of Pakistanis and centre of the entire Muslim Ummah in terms of religious devotion. He said there were eternal friendly and brotherly relations between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, and the kingdom had always helped Pakistan in difficult times.

Mr Turi also visited the Pakistani Embassy in Riyadh where Pakistan Ambassador Amir Khurram Rathore briefed the minister about various departments of the embassy.

The minister said Pakistan always held its relations with Saudi Arabia in high regards which were based upon Islamic brotherhood and mutual respect.
